I fulfilled a longstanding wish in completing a degree in Art practise as a mature student, and earning first class honours. In our first year, during a drawing module, we were asked to draw a head with wire. This was the moment I fell in love with sculpture.
My work is mostly figureative, and mostly ceramic. I am intrigued by our lives as humans, our interface with each other, and with the world around us. I am interested in our myths and desire for meaning.
I work a lot in paperclay, which I make myself. This allows me to recycle clay, and I often make specific clay bodies for particular work. I also use found or dug up clay.
I work at the bottom of my garden in Totnes, and am a long standing member of Totnes open studios group
