Stone Sculpture – has been a life changing experience for Jayne, having carved her first form in January 2011.
All her working life has been spent in the motor industry, and the last 20 years spent running a successful sports car garage.
Strange as it may seem Jayne believes stone found her.
At present she works predominantly in limestone, preferring to sculpt mainly to no set ideas, and very often adopts a free thinking style, and also to let the creative energies of the stone to decide the form within. However from Jayne’s gallery, you can clearly see some of her forms do have a pre-conceived idea, and you can see this in the bird forms.
All of Jayne’s work is created using the old method of hammer and chisel, she like to feel her forms are created for purely aesthetic purposes to enjoy looking and touching.
